I have unfortunate news for Stacy Sweet. You need to be upset at the moron politician you had sometime previous to Mitt Romney, who decided it was ok to spend money your state didn't have. Seems to me the real way to get everyone on your side isn't to start slashing funding for programs so as to reel in the HUGE deficit in your budget, but rather to exercise no fiscal discipline and keep spending money you don't have. Who hates you then, when all you do is keep saying "yes" to every needful program regardless of whether or not you can responsibly afford it. NEWSFLASH, spending money you don't have is a recipe for one thing, and it is not a recipe for solving problems, but creating them. Everyone wants to see every needy person or group get the cash they need to improve the lives of others, but only an idiot believes that gives you the right to spend you money you don't have. They key is...YOU DON'T HAVE IT! I applaud any person who bites the bullet, makes the hard decision, and has to say no when prudent. AS well re: mitt- it was shown with all of his cuts to our mass state programs, many many families, communities and non profit companies like nursing homes were hurt badly. only for reasons to balance a checkbook. his cuts hurt medicaid patients, child care vouchers, etc. At what human cost is this man willing to take for his popularity?
and DO NOT BE mistaken,.. he only 'won' the useless Iowa caucus because there were a few other republicans missing from that poll.
