The name of the picture is "All Is Vanity" by C. Allan Gilbert. I got the picture on Wikipedia because I needed picture for Vanity in my contest. 10/05/2007 19:57
I am really not a fan of piercings. But for me they are probably less of a turn off than tattoos since they are removable--except for the piercing. I have no piercings, but if I ever achieve my dream of getting a gig as an Elton John impersonator, I'd consider it. I guess they make those kind that have magnets so you would not actually have to pierce your ear?! Another reason why piercings are not as big of a turn-off for me is simply because most of the women I have met with piercings were friendly and polite-for some odd reason. I distinctly remember one exception!
Next time I'm at a karaoke bar and someone with rings in her face comes up and asks me to dance, I'm saying "NO!" 10/04/2007 19:58
This is one of those no win situations. Remember the lady who wrote "Mommy Dearest"? She got ridiculed by many for telling the truth. I have noticed that people who come from 'happy' family situations are the least empathetic to those who do not. And then it becomes even worse if the person you are talking about was actually good to you in some ways. If you are in a prison cell, you probably have a better chance of someone relating to you, because such a high percentage of them come from unhappy home situations. So for now, let me just relay this. A month or so ago I walked into my local post office and the Postmaster said, "A lady called saying she was a secretary for an attorney and needed to talk with you." I thought a second and said, "Did she sound kind of old?" The Postmaster said, "Actually, she did." I said, "Like about ninety?" The Postmaster kind of chuckled and said, "Yes". I said, "That's just my Grandma". (Up to her old tricks!) The Postmaster said, "I thought she sounded awfully old to be a secretary, but you never know!" 10/04/2007 19:00
I have noticed that people who will %$#&* a creditor will %$#&* you too. Bad Credit is a red flag in my book. I have a problem also with people who have credit card debt for reasons other than personal or family illness. I'd rather drive my '87 Corolla (Adam Sandler car) and live in my century-old fixer-upper than be in debt. Maybe I am strange. Don't answer that. 10/04/2007 18:39
Have a credit card because you don't want to carry cash on your body and it's very convenient. Pay it off every month so no interest. To me Financial Problems could mean the person is not responsible. 10/05/2007 20:31
Me and a friend were just talking about atheists the other day. He made the comment that they always seem so unhappy. Actually the ones you see making headlines do always seem unhappy. But I have some good friends that are basically atheists, but one is an engineer, one a mathematician, the other a pro gambler, but they all look at things very scientifically. They don't go around trying to change the Pledge of Allegiance or try to get God taken out off a historical building. I seem to get along well with these people, but the topic of God rarely comes up. I am all for the separation of church and state, but let's be reasonable. 10/04/2007 14:31
This wouldn't turn me off at all. Bad teeth, big women in stretch pants, men wearing socks with sandals, those silly croc shoes....all much worse than a lisp. 10/04/2007 03:19
I was raised by my Grandmother. Never knew when she was lying or not. Ever since then I have hated liars. I hear she ain't doing well. I have not spoken to her in years and do not intend to. I don't even open her letters! Yea, lying is a big turn-off. Captain Stupid, this is like therapy for me. What do I owe ya? 10/03/2007 14:45
That's terrible. Do you mind sharing what kind of lies she told? Hopefully this helps like therapy. Of course you don't owe us anything. You are with friends and can speak open and free. 10/03/2007 22:48
I hate tattoos. Why? Because they are ugly. How many women have tattoos right above their rear end because their role model, Britney Spears, got one. Give me a break. I don't want to be too hard on Britney. There is something incredibly captivating about her. I even wrote a song about her a few years ago. I hope she starts making some bette decisions. 10/03/2007 14:39
I like Clay Aiken's voice. Although, I am egotistical enough to think than when I am on, that my version of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" is in the same league as his. I bought a cd of his last Winter because I wanted to learn the song "Mary Did You Know" for a Holiday performance. I was humbled when I heard some songs on that cd where his remarkable talent really shown and there is no way that I could ever sing them as well...Hey, Elton John is my favorite singer of all-time. One thing I have noticed, and it is evident on nearly a daily basis in the news, having artistic talent does not make you a good role model. There are exceptions. Garth Brooks, certainly not a wimp, I think is an artist whose whole being and the fabric of who he is and believes is clearly evident in his live performances and his songs--and this is what made him such a phenomenon! 10/03/2007 14:36
I don't remember what Clay Aiken sounds like. I used him as wimp because the radio was talking about he is so wimpie... I also don't mind wimps so I didn't think it was very insulting. 10/03/2007 22:57
This is kind of a tough one for me. I used to be very religious, and now am not religious at all. I consider myself spiritual (at least at times), but not religious. It does seem like if you want to find a fruit or a flake, go find yourself a religious zealot. They don't really bother me, because I stay away. And I do think religion does at times help to unify some people to do good works, and sometimes teaches positive values. My biggest problem with religion is that a very big part of me thinks it is all man-made. I don't see how the universes could have been created without some superior intelligence behind it. But on the other hand, religions all want to tell you that their God is the one that did it, and that their religion is the right one. MORE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE NAME OF RELIGION THAN FOR ANY OTHER REASON. INTERESTING! 10/03/2007 14:18
I have never been religious. My friend said I should go to church meeting to meet people so I went... It was terrible, very uncomfortable and the people were pushy. I didn't make any friends :(. That was last Christmas. 10/03/2007 23:05
If yur gonna do it, ya gotta get the good stuff! he he. I can joke about it because I have never taken illegal drugs. But many years ago I was around some people smoking marijuana maybe a handful of times. I really liked the smell (I inhaled), but I never did smoke it. 10/03/2007 14:07
I've never taken illegal drugs too and am uncomfortable around illegal drugs. I try to avoid parties where they might going to be there. 10/03/2007 23:10
I think this is a cool contest. I think if I had to go thru these faceoff's again I would probably make some significant changes each time I did. On some of these there are different ways to look at it.
For instance Mr. Fisk. I had the 'Geek' and the 'muscle-bound guy' less of a turn off than Mr. Fisk because there are so many traits he has to be jealous of!
For those of us who are single on this site, I think contests like this are a good idea. I hope to not offend anyone for saying this, but except for an exceptional situation, the last person I would dream about wanting to hook up with would be another singer. Kind of like when I was heavily involved in gambling, as soon as I knew someone gambled, I wanted nothing to do with them. 10/03/2007 13:27
Thank you for voting and commenting. I want to ask you about this and don't know how to not put you on the spot. I will ask other people ;) 10/03/2007 23:25
My eyebrow doesn't agree...totally. As long as they are small...hardly noticed and not in the tongue. People don't talk right when they are in the tongue. LOL 10/02/2007 22:03
